Possessors occupy a DF position within DP, either in SPEC DP, or adjoined to NP, in line with Bresnan's (2011) Endocentric Mapping Principles. They are not a sub-type of subject, as proposed by Sadler (2000) because their default discourse function is that of ANCHOR, not TOPIC, but they may be subject-like in being a GF (POSS) with a default DF.
