Short feedback from the Frankfurt meeting - Manfred: the networking works fine, we now know who is doing what - 2 days are fine - the general structure runs fine but Manfred is still unhappy that the WG sessions are too short (the proposed WG1 hands-on workshop should help - see 4 below) - Adam would expect more scientific discussions and less administration and organization work 3. General structure of the 4th meeting in Malta: - general structure - like in Frankfurt, with enhanced poster modalities: less posters (20), poster contents more connected to WG running topics, more selectivity - important dates: * call for posters: September (fit to the aims of the WGs) * submission deadline: 19 December 2014 * extended deadline: 5 January 2015 * SC meeting with poster validation: Wednesday 14 January, 14:00-16:00 * notifications to authors: 16 January 2015 4. Towards a hands-on workshop on MWE encoding (Manfred): - 1,5 day before the general meeting in Iasi (September 2015) - small group: 15 people - using LMF to encode data from different languages, moving to more problematic cases - discussing LMF drawbacks - invited expert on LMF 5. Co-organizing a Shared Task at CoNLL 2015 (Veronika) - Shared Task proposal from the University of Szeged: "Automatic detection of verbal multiword expressions" - to be submitted next week - moral support from the action - via a support letter by Agata - financial support - maybe later if the Shared Task can be co-located e.g. with a MWE workshop (on PARSEME schedule for year 3) 6. Towards a workshop proposal on grammar engineering workshop (Yannick) - the workshop proposal on grammar engineering will probably be submitted for 2015 - one of the topics would probably concern MWEs and their representation in lexicons - a financial support from PARSEME would not be possible (the event will probably take place outside Europe) but moral support is welcome (encouraging MWE-related papers to the workshop, inviting PARSEME members to the PC, etc.) 7. Update on intentions to host other general meetings: - March 2016 - Slovakia (training school or general meeting) - 26-27 September 2016 - Dubrovnik, Croatia - March or September 2016 - Macedonia - March 2017 - Blois (last meeting) - Adam: maybe a Western Europe country should be solicited (Portugal?) 8. Next SC meeting - Wednesday 14 January, 14:00-16:00 - Flash Meeting (with recording) - Mike ======== TO DO: Agata: - announce the dates for the 4th meeting in Malta - write a support letter for the Shared Task - put on the next SC agenda: STSM reimbursement rates per country, designing the STSM policy - next call for posters (end September): contents more connected to WGs; more selectivity; nicely justify these new modalities - propose rules for selecting the training school trainees and for their reimbursement - ask Iasi people to take the WG1 hands-on workshop into account - write instructions for the WG leaders about the procedures related to the WG and mailing membership (e.g. what happens if someone applied to more than one group etc.) - check the WG4 mailing list with Victoria - first version of the budget for January (including the WG1 workshop) Cvetana: - inform the STSM applicants about the approved funding - communicate on more realistic and lower-cost STSM budget estimations (because of the increased demand) All WG leaders/vice-leaders: - Update the website with short descriptions of current WG tasks (topics and summaries of the WG subgroups in Frankfurt; links to surveys etc.) Mike: - set up a Flash Meeting (with recording) for Wednesday, 14 January, 14:00-16:00 Adam and Agata: - first steps towards a monograph/overview papers/white paper/editorial paper (e.g. at RANLP?) Adam: + remove Roel van Den Berg from PARSEME mailing list (the role of DC rapporteurs disappears)
