Comrie 1997: 45-46 mentions as possibly problematic Russian and French NPs where for extraneous reasons certain numerals may not combine with certain noun (e.g., *neuf oeufs).

    So-called “thesis of continuity”; L stands for the ‘limit number’ which every human language has (cf. #527) as the next largest natural number after the largest expressible one in the system.
