    This universal applies only to ‘every’-like quantifiers, not to ‘each’-like ones. Thus, for example, ‘each’- unlike ‘every’ – may occur in a variety of more loosely-bound constructions, for example ‘each of them’, ‘each of George’s men’ and so forth. (Gil 1992: 342)
