There is a very general principle that if one resolution operates [in determining agreement with conjoined NPs], all must operate if possible.
Stipulation: Number resolution can only operate if there is at least one singular conjunct.
Standardized
In agreement conflicts due to conjuncts of different number and/or gender, IF there is number resolution, THEN there is also gender resolution, and vice versa.
